Privacy Policy
What we collect when you visit the site or send us a story, and how we use it.
Aloha Legacy Music LLC (“Aloha Legacy Music,” “we,” “us”) makes custom songs in Hawaiʻi. This policy explains what information we collect through alohalegacymusic.com (the “Site”), why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Site only, not to other websites we link to.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Song requests and contact forms. Your name, email address, phone number if you add it, and the story you share: who the song is for, the occasion, memories, the message, and any names or phrases you want included.
- Email. Anything you send to info@alohalegacymusic.com.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records the pages requested, the time, your IP address, and browser type in order to run and secure the Site.
- Browser storage. While you fill in a song request, your answers are saved in your own browser so a refresh does not lose them. That data stays on your device until you send the request or clear it. We do not read it.
- Cookies. The Site sets a cookie only to remember a preview password during site reviews, and a session cookie for people who sign in to edit content. We do not use advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To reply to you, talk through your song, and write and record it. The details of your story are used only for the song you are commissioning.
- To operate, protect, and improve the Site.
- To send you information about your commission. We do not send newsletters or marketing email unless you ask for them.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who else handles your information
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf, only as needed to run the Site:
- Vercel hosts the Site and stores uploaded media.
- Supabase stores the Site’s content.
- Google Fonts serves the Site’s typefaces.
- YouTube plays the videos on the Music page. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player, which does not set tracking cookies until you press play. Once a video plays, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
We may also share information when the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of our artists, our clients, or the public.
Stories about other people
Most song requests are about someone else: a parent, a grandparent, a friend. Please share only what you are comfortable having set to music, and let us know if there is anything that should stay private. We treat every story with care and will not publish a commissioned song, its lyrics, or the story behind it without the permission of the person who commissioned it.
How long we keep it
We keep song request details for as long as needed to complete your commission and for our records afterward, then delete or anonymize them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing info@alohalegacymusic.com, and we will do so unless we need to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.
Your choices and rights
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- You can decline to provide information; some features, like sending a song request, will not work without it.
- You can clear the request draft saved in your browser at any time using the “Clear” link on the request page or your browser settings.
Residents of states with privacy laws that grant additional rights may exercise them by contacting us. We will not treat you differently for doing so.
Children
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and limited access to keep your information safe. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the Site.
