Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to a site that everyone can use, and how to tell us when something gets in the way.
Aloha Legacy Music makes songs for families and communities across Hawaiʻi, and we want everyone to be able to hear them and to reach us. We are committed to making alohalegacymusic.com accessible to people with disabilities and to keep improving it.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive disabilities.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, including the audio player, the song catalog filters, and the song request flow. Focus is always visible.
- Headings, landmarks, and labels are structured so screen readers can move through the site and understand each control.
- Images that carry meaning have text descriptions. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text and background colors meet contrast requirements, and the layout adapts to phones, tablets, zoomed-in browsers, and larger text settings.
- Animation respects the “reduce motion” setting in your device.
- Videos and audio start only when you choose to play them.
Known limitations
- Song lyrics. Our songs are audio recordings. Written lyrics for any song on the site are available on request, and we are working to add them to the site directly.
- Embedded videos. Videos on the Music page are played through YouTube’s player, which has its own accessibility features and limitations. Captions are available on videos where they have been added.
Tell us
If any part of the site is difficult for you to use, or if you need any content in another format, please let us know. Email info@alohalegacymusic.com and tell us which page you were on and what happened. We will respond within a few business days and do our best to fix the problem or give you the information another way.
Assessment
This site was designed and built with accessibility in mind and is reviewed against WCAG 2.1 AA using manual keyboard and screen reader testing and automated tools. This statement is reviewed whenever the site changes significantly.
